1983
- Eddie Brown establishes Brown Capital Management in Baltimore, MD.
-
Large Capitalization Service (formerly named Mid/Large Capitalization Service and
LARGE/mid Capitalization Service) is launched.
1991
- The Small Company Service is introduced. Strength of the Small Company Service lies in its
efforts to identify “exceptional small companies with the wherewithal to become exceptional
large companies.”
1992
- Product line is expanded with: 1) a dedicated Mid Capitalization Service - result of experienced
mid-cap stock selection in the Large Capitalization service; and 2) a family of mutual funds -
available to investors who sought pooled vehicles with lower minimum investment
requirements.
- The Nottingham Company (www.ncfunds.com) - a North Carolina-based firm, is selected to
provide mutual fund administration, ensuring that BCM would remain a focused investment
management firm.
1999
- International Equity Fund and International Service are introduced.
Note: BCM believed that employing GARP overseas was still a relatively unknown
concept. The firm built a mutual fund performance track record prior to introducing the
separate account service.

expertise at more accessible investment minimums.
