In 1983, Eddie Brown founded Brown Capital Management in an effort to provide high-quality investment management services to regionally based, small/medium-sized clients. The firm seeks to provide the right management team, exceptional investment returns and superior quality client service to help clients reach their investment goals.
Considered by many to be the pioneer of GARP – growth at a reasonable price – investing, Eddie’s innovative investment strategy coupled with his ability to identify exceptional growth companies at attractive valuations prompted him to launch the Large Capitalization Service (formerly named Mid/Large Capitalization Service and LARGE/mid Capitalization Service). By 1986, the firm quickly grew into the large account market thanks to performance out comes, hard work and Eddie’s national exposure on the former Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser.
